Make an Impact
As we seek to be the church in a hurting world, the following are different ways to make a difference through service and mission in and beyond our community
Cherry Hill Food Pantry Collection
Anytime
The Cherry Hill Food Pantry is an important resource to combat food insecurity in our local community, and we have an ongoing collection of items to stock their shelves. Needs include:
nonperishable food items
cake mix
canned fruit cocktail
ground coffee
laundry detergent
napkins
toothpaste
Place items in our collection bin located in the breezeway by the church parking lot. You may also support the Cherry Hill Food Pantry through monetary donations made on our website or church app or by mailing a check to the church office with “Cherry Hill Food Pantry” on the memo line. Thank you for your continued support of our Mission Partner!
Welcoming the Stranger Book Study
Wednesdays through November 6
Immigration is a complex issue, with Christians often torn between upholding laws and ministering to the vulnerable. In Welcoming the Stranger, authors Matthew Soerens and Jenny Yang offer a Christian perspective on immigration. Join Pastor Cricket and Matt Peace for a roundtable discussion on Refugee Resettlement on Wednesday, September 25, at 7pm in Room 304. For deeper exploration, a 6-week book study will be held October 2 - November 6 at 7pm in Room 304 or via Zoom.
Feed My Starving Children
Saturday, November 16
The Haddonfield Council of Churches is hosting a "Feed My Starving Children” food packing event for the 9th year! On Saturday November 16, volunteers 5 years old and up will come together at the Haddonfield Middle School to help pack life saving meals for those suffering from starvation and malnutrition. Register for the time slot of your choice by clicking the button below.
Consider donating to help cover the cost of the food being packed. You can give online at haddonfieldumc.org/give, using the fund “Feed My Starving Children,” or write the fund name on your check/envelope. Every donation makes a difference!

Cherry Hill Food Pantry Volunteers
Ongoing
Beginning October 15, clients who receive food assistance from the Cherry Hill Food Pantry will once again be able to shop for their own groceries rather than receive prepackaged bags. After a 5-year break from this model, during which time a new location was purchased, renovated, and a parking lot installed, they are now ready to return to have their clients shop. This provides greater dignity to those who come to the pantry in need. This change will require many more volunteers than the previous drive-through method for receiving assistance. Volunteers in the past have found this to be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience and the clients enjoy forming personal relationships.
Interfaith Caregivers Volunteers
Ongoing
Help your neighbors with the gift of a lift! For over 30 years our volunteers have been providing rides, shopping and companionship to older members of our community. Whether you have a few hours to give each month or are looking to share your professional talents, your volunteer support helps our clients to continue living independent lives.
Hurricane Relief and Recovery
Ongoing
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is actively responding to the needs of those affected by recent hurricanes. To give to response and recovery efforts, write “UMCOR US Disaster Response & Recovery/Hurricane Relief” on your check or envelope or select the fund when you give online by clicking the button below. Through UMCOR, all donations go directly to response and recovery efforts.
Support UMCOR General Fund
Anytime
Support the work of The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the humanitarian relief and development arm of Global Ministries. UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.
