New Jersey MasterChorale

The New Jersey MasterChorale (NJMC) is a regional, symphonic choir comprised of 70 singers with various backgrounds from the greater South Jersey and Philadelphia areas. The group is a community choir offered as part of the Music Ministry of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church (HUMC) in Haddonfield, NJ, and has performed major choral works with orchestral accompaniment of the highest quality since its beginnings as the HUMC Oratorio Choir in 1974.

Next Concert: To Glory Arise – Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 7pm | Haddonfield UMC Sanctuary

Ticket are required to attend in person and will be available for free here starting March 26!

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Our spring concert takes its inspiration from the Declaration, particularly its fundamental ideals of equality, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," peacemaking, and the guiding hand of Divine Providence.

The program includes settings of American folk tunes, patriotic selections, and settings of poetry by Emma Lazarus, Robert Frost, Francis Ellen Watkins Harper, and John Greenleaf Whittier. Composers represented include Aaron Copland, Randall Thompson, Gwyneth Walker, Roger Holland, Cynthia Erivo, and Melissa Dunphy. The program will be accompanied by the largest orchestra NJMC has hired in several seasons.

The Mosaic Youth Chorus from the Lehigh Valley will join us for the concert and present several pieces from their repertoire. Directed by Joy Hirokawa, the Mosaic Youth Chorus is a choir of diverse 11-18 year old singers whose focus is developing community, empathy, and social awareness.
